1. An avatar is an animated representation of a person or thing posted on the Internet that you can edit and personalize to fit your liking.
2. A person may use an avatar in personal life to represent yourself in a video game or something of that same manner. You could also use avatars on your Yahoo! account to use as your icon. You may also use it for business purposes to use as a mascot for your company; you can also use an avatar to advertise a product. Lastly, you might use an avatar for your educational career as a sort of didactic resource, in which you can explain instructions with an audio-enabled avatar (i.e. Voki.)
3. I have in fact used avatars in the past, though I've stopped using them around the age of nine. I several in the past for my childhood Yahoo! account, but I personally feel like they're a bit childish and I outgrew them.
4. Out of the three websites, I would have to say that I enjoyed Clay Yourself the most. Though the other two were perfectly splendid, I like Clay Yourself because it was easy to use and navigate around, and I thought the gallery feature they used was nifty. The last reason I liked this website sounds childish and shallow, but I personally really liked it the most because they had better clothing options than Voki and GoAnimate.
